William Hudson

William Hudson is the brother of my fourth great grandfather, Joseph Hudson. My ancestor is ususally referred to as "The father of the 16 kids" because without Joseph and Dorothy's large family, the Giggleswickian Hudsons likely would have died out.

Their parents were James and Ann (nee Brayshaw) Hudson.

A few days ago I wasn't feeling well... I stayed home and worked on compiling William's genealogy. In England I had worked on this family with the indexes of Parish Records at the North Riding County Record Office in Northallerton. It wasn't until more recently I have had the time to compile William's descendants a little more...

At this point, I only have descendants for three of his ten children... Four of his children definitely died without leaving any issue as they were young children. Another of his children (Thomas) evidently reached bachelorhood without marrying. There were three children, Joseph, Nanny and Elizabeth who have descendants.

I am still seeking what became of some of his children, as there are a few whose marriages I have not found... James (the eldest) and Mary (the sixth child) have no marriages attached to them. I have not been able to find them.

Are you related to either James or Mary? What about any of the other kids?

As I am a little obsessive compulsive, I will research these families until I have them fully satisfactorily figured out...
